Community Chipping & Bucking Day

Heads up!  We’re planning another community chipping day.  The date isn’t settled yet, but will likely be Saturday Aug 13th.  Tho August 20th and 27th are contenders, as are the Fridays before those.  Why the uncertainty?  We’re working several angles to get a LARGE chipper on site, and those are still in play.  Worst case we’ll get the smaller Home Depot chipper.  We just want to give you all advance notice, so you can bring out your slash to the road.  Remember – cut-ends out please!

If time permits, we also plan to buck-up the firewood stacks we’ve made, to get them ready for sale.  Based on what we see already in the area, we figure it will be just a half-day (8am-noon) for the work.  Stay tuned to this site for more information.

Thanx!

Firewise Day May 7

A productive but short day due to weather – thanks to all who helped on May 7: Ken; Rob; Rod, Marcia and John V; Steve H; Toni; Jim, Michael and Joshua G; and Mark S (in addition to help prior to May 7 from Jeff, Rob, Ken, Rod, Mark S, Heather and Bryan, and Steve R).  We tackled some of our highest priority areas, including the Gauntlet and portions of Evans Road.  Thanks to neighbors for being supportive of efforts to reduce fuels on their land for the good of the community.  Here are a few photos – the rest are at the top of the Media Library.IMG_5956 IMG_5953 IMG_5947
